Furlers & Rigging
As yachts have become larger, sails more powerful and loads more demanding, Rondal has kept pace with upgrades designed to anticipate the trends and exceed the demands.
Rondal hydraulic furlers benefit from more than 30 years of continual development, ocean-testing and design enhancement. As yachts have become larger, sails more powerful and loads more demanding, Rondal has kept pace with upgrades designed to anticipate the trends and exceed the demands.
The result is an ultra-reliable and exceptionally efficient range of furlers, engineered from solid, marine grade stainless steel and polished to Rondal’s renowned high gloss finish. With a direct hydraulic drive, operation is extremely dependable, but a manual back-up system is incorporated for peace of mind. Maintenance is simplicity itself.
Rondal is independent of any one rigging supplier or system, leaving owners free to make the best selection for their project based on advice from Rondal and from their own experts. Rondal has close working relationships with all leading rigging suppliers, ensuring that we co-operate effectively as a team to optimise the rig to the specific needs of the project. With the supplier agreed, Rondal’s team goes into planning mode to ensure that all elements of the rig package are precisely specified, co-ordinated, delivered and installed as agreed.
The rigging team pre-assembles all elements of the rig at the build yard, then connects and fine-tunes the rig for the first time after the mast is stepped. Rondal riggers then attend sea-trials to assess rig performance and complete the tuning process.
Rondal has vast expertise in putting together fully integrated hydraulics packages to precisely meet the operational requirements of the individual yacht and its rig. This includes load analysis and product specification for mast jacks, back stay cylinders, boom vangs and furling systems, all of which are incorporated into the final rigging system by Rondal engineers.
