Specialised Naval Capabilities

Rondal applies its maritime engineering expertise to emerging naval capabilities, including wind-powered solutions, foiling and autonomy, working in close cooperation with specialist partners.

Rondal's Skua 12, the sailing Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV), is the solution for long duration missions over long distances. This 12 metre long USV harvests its energy for propulsion and sensors from wind, water and sun. Making the USV independent from fuel and capable of sailing undisturbed for a year. The USV is equipped with a standard set of sensors which can be expanded for specific payload options. Skua is designed to withstand all weather conditions and the innovative wing sail provides sufficient speed, even in light winds. It fits inside a 40 feet container.

Construction of Rondal's SKUA, the 12m wind-powered USV, has started. Sea demonstrations are planned for Q2 2027.
